Casa Ojochal is a vacation
rental located in Ojochal, Costa Rica, 30 km south of
Dominical, 7 km south of Uvita on the Pacific Ocean and in the
Osa region. We are a 35 minute flight away from San Jose
international airport, via Sansa and twenty minutes by car from
Palamar Sur airport, two miles from the turn off on the
costanera highway in Ojochal.
Originally part of a cashew
farm more than 10 years ago, the house is situated
on five acres in a private and lovely area of Ojochal. The
house overlooks a small valley, spectacular views of the
primary rain forest Fila Margarita
mountains to the east, and ocean views to the west.
The immediate grounds contain a variety of blooming flowers and
a beautiful hedged flowering amapola planted around the
pool. Native extinct hardwoods have been also been
reintroduced on the eastern valley below the house and on the entire
"farm" by the developer and residents.
Ojochal is located on

Bird
watching
You don't have to
be an active bird watcher to enjoy the spectacular
morning show every morning and actually, by 7am you will want to get
out of bed to see what all the fuss is about outside. Many toucans,
canaries, tanagers, and other species are easily seen early
morning and before sunset right from your chair in the gazebo/porch
area. The location of the house offers a great vantage point of the
small valley below. Throughout the day, humming birds are
around the pool deck pollinating the flowering
amopola.
White faced monkeys are
often seen in the immediate area and howler monkeys are heard
just before sunrise, about 5:30 a.m. to 6 a.m. from the
surrounding mountains.
